TRANSLATED FROM GLORPSCRIPT:
I, Gleepus Glorpus, am terrible at graphic design. However, designing one of these ‘posters’ for one of these Earthly ‘movies’ was quite a novel experience, I must say. I took the phrase “texture, exploitation, and geometry” from Sontag’s On Photography. Why? Because it sounded profound, obviously. I decided to include members of my family in the movie poster because I miss them dearly.
I opted to tie in the quote of “texture, exploitation, and geometry” to the plot of two single glorp fathers pining for a singular glorp partner. However, the two are highly problematic, hence the ‘exploitation’ in the title. The context of the quote itself is also one built into conflict: “In deciding how a picture should look, in preferring one exposure to another, photographers are always imposing standards on their subjects.” Like so, the two single glorp fathers impose their own standards upon the single glorp they both desire. A single, semitransparent divides the two sides of the poster, separating each glorp family from one another and denoting a pretty clear visual conflict. The singular glorp partner in the background is also semitransparent, symbolizing that the two glorp fathers do not actually care for the glorp individual very much, but rather what they want the glorp to be. Their conflict is not about who gets a partner to be in their glorpchildren’s life, but rather who gets the trophy glorp that they can command. Maybe one day, the two glorp fathers will learn their lesson on treating other glorps like objects.
